What is a Peace Circle
Peace Circles are a structured, heart-centered practice rooted in Indigenous wisdom and community storytelling. They create safe, intentional spaces for deep listening, healing, conflict transformation, and authentic connection. Whether used in schools, organizations, families, or communities, Circles help foster trust, belonging, and understanding.
Who is This Training For
Peace Circle Training is for anyone who works with people and is looking for a communication process to enhance relationships, empathy, understanding and respect. Peace Circles can be designed and moulded to align with a wide variety of groups for a wide variety of topics over a wide variety of timeframes. Structural pieces can also be used outside of circle in one-on-one or small group conversations to enhance the safety and quality of the space for richer conversation.
About Peace Circle Training
Peace Circle Training is a dynamic and experiential 2-day workshop designed to equip participants with the tools, structure, and confidence needed to Keep (facilitate) Peace Circles across a range of settings.
The term “Peace Circle” encompasses a wide variety of intentional dialogue-based themes rooted in shared values, deep listening, and mutual respect. Participants will learn to facilitate circles for purposes such as:
- Celebration
- Decision-Making
- Community Building
- Healing and Grief Support
- Conflict Transformation
- Reintegration and Transition Support
Whether you're working in schools, organizations, justice settings, or community spaces, this training offers a strong foundation in the art of holding space for connection, reflection, and transformation.

Richard Flank Peace Circle Keeper & Trainer
Richard began his Peace Circle journey in 2010 with a transformative 4-Day Beginner Training, where he immediately recognized the profound impact of the circle process. His professional role at the time provided an opportunity to put the practice into action right away, deepening his understanding through real-world application.
Over the following years, Richard expanded his training to include Advanced Peace Circle Facilitation, Circles in Schools, Community Drum Circles, and Healing & Balancing Drum Circle practices. He has since facilitated circles across a wide range of settings—from national conferences and government gatherings to schools, nonprofits, and grassroots community groups.
In 2013, Richard began his apprenticeship as a Peace Circle Trainer and led his first training in 2015. He continues to guide new Circle Keepers while supporting communities in cultivating healing, balance, connection, joy and peace through the circle process.
